Frequently Asked Questions

  • What types of drivers do you work with?

Jet Delivery works with three categories of drivers, depending on your location, vehicle type, and how you prefer to partner with us.

DOT-Authorized Carriers: If you operate your own business with active DOT authority, you can transport freight for Jet Delivery using your box truck, flatbed, or tractor-trailer. We offer regional and national work with consistent communication and reliable payout terms.

Independent Gig Drivers: In most U.S. states, individuals with personal cars, SUVs, or cargo vans can complete local courier deliveries as independent contractors. You'll see available opportunities through the Jet Driver app and choose which assignments to accept—on your schedule and at your discretion.

Employee Drivers: If you're looking for full- or part-time employment with company support and benefits, Jet Delivery also hires W-2 drivers in select locations. You can browse current openings on our Careers Page.

Important: We do not currently work with gig drivers in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington, Illinois, or Connecticut due to legal and operational restrictions. If you're located in one of these states and are interested in driving for Jet, please explore employee driver opportunities on our Careers Page. We may expand gig driver access in these states at a future date.

  • How much can I earn as a driver with Jet Delivery?

Your earnings as an independent contractor with Jet Delivery depend on the type of equipment you operate, your availability, and the types of assignments you choose to accept. Many independent drivers using their own vehicles generate between $25–$45 per hour on local routes, with higher earning potential on regional and long-haul loads involving dock-height trucks.

Jet Delivery offers prompt payment through Net 14 terms by ACH, check, or wire transfer. We also offer Quick Pay options to eligible partners. Additionally, we support payment through most factoring companies upon request. There are no hidden fees or commission charges—contractors retain the full agreed-upon rate for each job completed.

  • What vehicles do I need to drive for Jet Delivery?

We contract with individuals and companies operating a wide variety of vehicles. For smaller courier work, eligible vehicles typically include passenger cars, SUVs, or cargo vans. For larger freight, contractors use box trucks, stake beds, and tractor-trailers. Vehicle qualifications depend on the nature of the work, size and weight requirements, and customer needs.

All vehicles must be properly insured, roadworthy, and meet any applicable state or federal regulations. If you’re unsure whether your vehicle qualifies, you can reach out via our Contact Page for guidance.

  • Do I need my own DOT authority to work with Jet Delivery?

It depends on the type of services you're looking to offer. For independent drivers interested in handling local courier jobs, DOT authority is not required. However, you must hold a valid driver's license, maintain appropriate insurance, and pass our standard screening process.

For those operating larger vehicles (e.g. box trucks, flatbeds, or tractors), we only partner with businesses that hold an active DOT number and are registered with the FMCSA. You’ll also need to provide proof of insurance, business registration, and any required permits such as UCR or a California MCP.

  • How do I get paid, and how often?

Jet Delivery offers flexible and consistent payment terms for independent contractors. Our standard schedule is Net 14 from the date we receive complete delivery documentation and a matching invoice. Payment can be issued by ACH, check, or wire transfer (fees may apply for wire).

We also offer a Quick Pay option to approved contractors who maintain a timely documentation record. In addition, we work directly with most major factoring companies if you choose to route your invoices that way. All job-related earnings are visible through your contractor portal or app.

  • Is there a mobile app for Jet Delivery drivers?

Yes. The Jet Driver app helps independent contractors manage their deliveries efficiently. You can use it to view available opportunities, accept assignments, navigate to stops, submit delivery confirmations, and stay informed through real-time updates.

The app also provides visibility into your delivery history and earnings and supports optional features like in-app communication. It’s available for free on both iOS and Android, and is required for handling work assigned through the platform.
