Security & Safety Policy

Policy Purpose

This policy applies to all subcontracted drivers, carriers, and warehouses working with Jet Delivery. It is designed to keep shipments safe, protect our customers, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and customer requirements.

By following this policy, subcontractors help us protect freight, maintain trusted partnerships, and avoid risks that could threaten our ability to do business.

Subcontracting

  • No subcontracting beyond one tier without Jet Delivery’s written approval. You must flow these requirements down to any sub-subcontractor and actively manage their compliance.
  • Public load boards (freight exchanges) may not be used to subcontract any Jet Delivery work.

Personnel & Identification

All subcontracted personnel must meet these basic requirements:

  • Background checks where legally permitted.
  • Photo ID must be carried and shown when required.
  • Uniform or safety vest when working at warehouses or job sites.

Facility & Cargo Security

  • Controlled access – no entry without proper ID, paperwork, or escort.
  • Chain of custody – cargo transfers must be documented and signed.
  • Dock/yard rules – doors closed when not in use; no personal vehicles in cargo areas.
  • Visitor control – visitors must log in, wear a badge, and be escorted.

In-Transit Security

  • Locks & seals – tractors and trailers must be locked when unattended. International and high-value loads require ISO 17712 high-security seals with numbers recorded on paperwork.
  • GPS or monitoring – loads must be tracked and monitored in transit.
  • Secure stops – use safe parking locations and never leave loaded trailers in unsecured areas.

Information Security

  • Do not share shipment details or take photos of freight without written approval.
  • Electronic systems must use secure logins and passwords; report any suspected breach within 24 hours.

Training & Reporting

  • All subcontractors must be aware of basic security risks: theft, smuggling, unauthorized access, and cyber threats.
  • Report immediately any theft, seal issue, suspicious activity, or accident to Jet Delivery dispatch or management.

Safety Requirements

  • Follow all OSHA, DOT, and state safety regulations.
  • Use required PPE when handling freight or working onsite.
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in safe operating condition.

Business Continuity

Subcontractors are expected to continue operations safely during emergencies (weather, civil unrest, etc.) or follow Jet Delivery instructions for alternate plans.
