California Workforce Privacy Notice

Scope. This notice applies to California applicants, employees, independent contractors (including drivers), and business-to-business contacts.

Sale/Share. We do not sell or share workforce personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals. Sensitive Personal Information (SPI): Where collected (e.g., SSN, driver’s license), we use SPI only for permitted purposes (identity verification, payroll/settlement, background checks, security/compliance) and do not use it to infer characteristics.

Notice at Collection

At or before collection, we may collect the categories of personal information below for the following purposes:

  • HR & Contractor Administration (recruiting, onboarding, payroll/settlement, benefits, training, communications).
  • Safety, Security & Compliance (identity verification, background checks, incident prevention/investigation, audit, legal obligations).
  • Operations & IT (account provisioning, support, system logs/telemetry, quality assurance, service improvement).

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes or as required by law (see Retention).

Sensitive Personal Information (SPI)

Where we collect SPI (e.g., SSN, driver’s license), we use it only for identity verification, payroll/settlement, background screening, security and legal compliance, and we do not use it to infer characteristics.

Your Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

  • Right to know/access — categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected.
  • Right to delete — request deletion, subject to legal and operational exceptions.
  • Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to limit SPI — if we ever use or disclose SPI beyond the permitted purposes above (not currently the case), you may limit such use/disclosure.
  • Right to opt out of sale/share — if we ever sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (not currently the case).
How to Submit a Request

Use any of the following methods to submit a verifiable consumer request:

Only you (or your authorized agent registered with the California Secretary of State) may make a request related to your personal information; you may also make a request for your minor child. We will verify your identity/authority and will only use information provided in a request to verify and to fulfill it.

Response Timing & Format

We endeavor to respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable request. If more time is needed (up to 90 days total), we will notify you of the reason and extension period. Our response will cover the 12 months preceding your request. For data portability, we provide your information in a readily usable format. We do not charge a fee unless a request is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded.

Non-Discrimination

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. We do not offer financial incentives for workforce personal information.

Disclosures in the Last 12 Months

We have not sold or shared workforce personal information in the last 12 months. We have disclosed certain categories of personal information for a business purpose to service providers/contractors (for example: HRIS/benefits/payroll, background-check vendors, IT/hosting, audit/compliance, security/fraud, and fleet/telematics providers where applicable).

Retention

We retain workforce personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it. Examples:

  • Payroll/tax and HR records: duration of relationship + applicable statutory periods.
  • Background/eligibility & compliance records: as required by law/contract.
  • System logs/analytics: typically up to 3 years.
